Announcing Blimp’s project management API

By Giovanni Collazo 14 Jan 2013

Blimp public API

We are happy to announce that starting today, developers everywhere will be able to extend the Blimp project management platform to fit the needs of their teams. Mobile apps, status dashboards, sms integrations and even Arduino hacks are now possible.

As part of this announcement we are also launching the first Python client library made by our own José Padilla. Libraries in Ruby, Objective-C, JavaScript (node.js) and PHP are already in the works. José also made a sample Titanium app for iOS using the API for folks that are into that.

If you are motivated and want to create a port to another language, please feel free to do so. We are going to be giving away 1 year subscriptions to our medium plan ($348) to developers that create and open source their client libraries. Also developers that submit pull requests to one of our “official clients” or “sample Titanium app” and get merged, will get a 1 year subscription to our small plan ($144).

We are just getting started with the API so if you find something is not working right or you have a suggestion on how to make it better, you can let us know by sending an email to support [at] getblimp [dot] com or by creating an issue on github if it has to do with specific code.

To get started with the API just go to and read the documentation there.

Start hacking!
